The Shadow Side of Healers

This is definitely not the kind of darkness we’re familiar with;

It’s denser, deeper, more layered — and if not integrated, much more dangerous. Because as the light increases, so does the darkness within.Up to this point, there’s nothing wrong; it’s a perfectly natural law. What’s truly important, vital, and critical is becoming aware of it, finding balance, and allowing it to heal through integration.

Those who walk this path — spiritual practitioners, energy healers, personal development experts, channels, mentors, guides, teachers, and trainers — must pay special attention to this matter.I strongly recommend keeping a personal journal and taking “Z reports” (self-audits) in this area.Because over the years, and as your spiritual level rises, this becomes one of the most crucial elements that can either advance or regress your channel. You, more than anyone, must face contrasts, blind spots, shadows — and work through them consciously. As Phil Good says, “Healers work with darkness,” and for that, you must be both aware and willing.

You’ve heard the saying: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” or “The devil can rise from the enlightened.”That’s exactly what this is about — if not handled with awareness. You can observe examples of this in yourself or in others working in this field.

If you find yourself in this line of work and talk about losing your mind, feeling drained, lost, trapped in the dark night of the soul, going through emotional highs and crashes, or struggling with unresolved issues in yourself or your clients — please take this seriously. This is something you must treat with the utmost awareness.Because what applies to everyone else, applies to you twice as much.

When we fail to take it seriously or integrate it, how does this darkness show up in our lives?

  1. Distortion through pseudo-enlightenment — twisting or detaching truths from their essence in the illusion of spiritual growth.

  2. Denial, projection, and imbalance — rejecting certain aspects, idolizing others; falling into cycles of attachment and avoidance; projecting one’s own shadow onto others; dogmatism, judgment, lack of wholeness, imbalance in giving/receiving, and emotional overload.

  3. A collection of spiritual bypasses.

  4. Spiritual ego and sacred narcissism — far subtler and more difficult to recognize and manage than the ordinary kind.

  5. Karmic loops of savior or destroyer patterns.

  6. Intoxication with power, knowledge, or authority.

So what can we do — especially if we work with others?

Never neglect your own inner work.Keep evolving. Revisit and revise when needed.Seek guidance. Receive healing.Because healers are the ones who need healing the most. And those who walk the spiritual path require the most guidance.

Give yourself at least as much time, care, isolation, compassion, and sacred space as you give to others. As your light increases, your darkness condenses — revealing layer after layer. That’s why responsibility, energetic hygiene, and self-discipline must increase along with it.Stay awake. Stay aware.

Evaluate what is reflected back to you — and what you project — from this perspective.Learn from what you teach.Honor the balance that exists in between.

Never forget:We are all on the same ship, each playing a role on this journey. We are all guests — everything is temporary and interconnected.

Cultivate the awareness of responsibility, effort, and sustainable growth. And when necessary — pause, let go, and step back from what you think you know.

Darkness is not the enemy —it is a gift and an essential part of the path.If used wisely, it polishes your soul —and if you work in this field, it does so even more deeply.
